jeff greer: who

Jeff greer moved to the seattle area in spring of 2006, and having disbanded his former band in VA years prior, he has returned with a new sound and a new passion for music.  still connected to his folky/celtic roots, jeff releases a rawness and an honest soul; combining his uniquely passionate vocals, his vibrant guitar-playing style, and his kinetic presence-- he lays his heart on the line, simultaneously weaving his social and spiritual convictions into each song.  he has become an advocate for love in the world and for raising awareness about human slavery and social injustice.

"i write and sing songs about the story of life: love. pain. suffering. healing. restoration. reconciliation. god. shalom. peace. hurt. sorrow. darkness. light. fear. joy. hope. faith. and once again... love! i also write and sing songs about justice...something i am very passionate about. i long to see justice for…

* those enslaved by sex trade, human trafficking, and slave labor
* those whose freedom has been taken away because someone more powerful wanted theirs first
* those who live outside, without a house, without a home, without a friend to love them, care for them     and see them as equals
* anyone who is oppressed, condemned, rejected, pushed aside or held back because of their gender, race, religious beliefs, country of residence, sexual orientation or socio-economic status.

i desire to use my music and my voice to bring life where there is death, to bring light where there is darkness, to be an advocate for love in the world and to join the collective shout for justice for those whose voices are not being heard. my hope is that through the power of music i can share this passion with the world: that we all bear the fingerprint of the Creator and every person should be seen and treated as such." - JEFF GREER

the jeff greer band

Jeff greer band, or JGB for short, was a VA based, celtic alternative rock band that disbanded in January of 2004, shortly after the release of their live CD, 'jgb live @ the whp'. they also recorded a studio CD entitled, 'a bigger one inside' in 2000. they coined the phrase and the sound that is known only as 'the celternative', and became quite known in the mid-atlantic region before their break-up. since then the other members of the band went on to do different things, including the creation of other bands. you can find links to those bands in the links section of this site. you can also purchase both jeff greer band CD's all over the internet, but the best way to get them is through CD Baby or on iTunes, through this site.
